Many of these reside in poor or inappropriate communication and ways of solving problems. Initially, my focus is on the dynamic between the couple, the stressors on the relationship and the methods of problem solving within the relationship to help repair relationships.
These methods of problem solving are often a result of how they observed their own parents communicate and how their parents solved problems. These insights can motivate couples to make small changes which can lead to a greater understanding of each other and therefore a more harmonious and contented relationship.
My approach to therapy is very client centred. This is a non-prescriptive approach which allows the client choices as to which techniques would suit their own specific realities.
